Volunteers Needed to Help Solicit

Although it is months away, we need volunteers to help solicit area merchants starting now. You can do this as part of your regular shopping or errands routine – just drop off our flyer to the owners or managers of the businesses you normally frequent. You can ask friends, family members or neighbors who you know may own a business or would like to donate an item or service to the fundraiser.

If you would like to volunteer or donate to the 2011 Silent Auction, please click here to send an email to Tina Anderson.

Volunteers Needed!

January 31, 2010

Family Fun Night is on March 12, 6 – 9 p.m. We have a new theme this year:  An African Safari. Mark you calendar now. Ticket order forms will be online soon.  Many favorite games are returning again this year. We’ll also have several new games. Plan to come on out and have a good time!

Each homeroom will be supplying volunteers to staff all of the games and activities we have at Family Fun Night. We need 275 – 300 volunteers, working in shifts to make this a successful event. Room parents have already begun to contact parents you for donations and to volunteer your time. Please be generous, especially with you time, when your room parent(s) contact you. We need everyone’s help.

In addition to donations and volunteer help that the room parents are requesting, we have some other needs.  If you can help out with any of these, please contact annferraro@aol.com.

  • Old wildlife calendars. I’m looking for pictures of African wildlife.
  • Make new theme-related flags for the cake walk and stuffed animal walk.
  • “Sanitize” the donated stuffed animals for our Plunder the Jungle game (a cake walk – only with stuffed animals).  Pick up donations from school, run them through your dryer, and wipe off with a Lysol sheet.
  • Event security.  We need several people at Family Fun Night to be identifiable as Event Security during the event, 5:45-9:00. There will be a short training meeting on March 4 at 7:00.  We must have at least 4, but others can combine duties with BEA managers. We need 5 people, 1 in each BEA plus the gym, to answer questions or resolve problems for shift volunteers.  BEA managers will spend the evening in the designated area, 5:45 – 9:15. Moms who are reading this, please also think “Dads”.  We especially welcome dads to help out as BEA managers and security.

Having trouble with SignUp Genius?

January 19, 2010

Some parents have indicated they’ve been having trouble signing up for Family Fun Night donations and game shifts through their invitation.

Here is a workaround, but you’ll need the e-mail of the person who created it — and you should know who that is via the invitation!

1. Go to www.signupgenius.com
2. Click on the green “Find a Signup” tab at the top
3. The next window will ask for the e-mail address of the creator of the signup. Type in the address.
4. The next window will list your signup. If the creator has made more than 1 signup, click on your class.
5. Click on the “Sign Up” button next to the item you wish to donate or shift you wish to volunteer for. If you wish to sign up for more than 1 item, you can do so using the pull-down menu under the “Qty” column.

Still having problems? Please e-mail Therese Howe at theresehowe@hotmail.com with details about what you’re doing and what’s going wrong.

Thank you for your patience!
