If you haven’t selected a theme, please submit your basket theme to Tina Anderson by FEBRUARY 1st, 2011.
When requesting and gathering the contents for your basket, you have 2 options:
1) Make a list of suggested items to donate (new – not used!) on SignUp Genius and let parents choose what they’d like to donate. One item per parent so there are no duplicates, unless you want duplicates of a certain item.
2) Ask parents for a monetary donation toward the purchase of new items for the basket. Click below for a sample letter.
NOTES:
* Make sure all the items you collect fit in the basket
* Items do not have to go in to a basket, or even be a basket at all. They can go in to any type of container you choose. Two examples: One year there was a gardening set that was put together in a small, wooden, hand-painted wheel barrow. Another year, the Japanese class’ donation was in a beautifully wrapped box
* Once the items are gathered and assembled, they will need to be delivered to Laurie Prisciandaro who has volunteered to wrap the baskets in shrink wrap. Laurie will need the filled baskets delivered to her home no later than February 19th. The earlier you can get her the baskets, the better.
* Laurie could use volunteers to help her. She will hold 2 or 3 wrapping sessions at her home. Anyone who has older children who need service hours, this is a great opportunity for them to complete some of those.
